Meet Nora Stewart - Denver Interior Designer, Creative, and Philosopher
Since I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated and moved by well-designed spaces—the proportions and flow, the unique details that create a sense of excitement when exploring a space, and seeing how you can employ your imagination and creativity in different rooms.
I love discovering the potential of both new architecture and older homes because each one has something special to offer. In older homes, we relish the details, recognize the character, and have fun inspecting all the nooks and crannies. And then you have modern homes with their simplified and streamlined layouts and their beautiful play on proportions.
I believe that residential interior design is a personalized practice, and each project is unique. I’m never bored as an interior designer because each year is different—from meeting people and creating in a variety of design styles and color schemes to working in different towns and neighborhoods, there’s always something new. And I love working with creative craftspeople and artisans who have an innovative approach to art and design and exciting products to use, whether it’s tiles, fabrics, or furnishings. They understand the nuances of design, how quality items are made, and they work with us to create custom bespoke interiors for clients.
The Finer Details
-
I grew up in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York, where I was profoundly influenced by the historic homes and architecture of the small river-side towns up and down the stunning Hudson River. My career in interior design began in Connecticut in the late 80’s. But something drew me to Denver, Colorado, in 1998—the energy with people from all over the country and, of course, over 200 days of sunshine a year. Though it was difficult to leave New England, I was abundantly rewarded for doing so.
-
A lover of liberal arts, I studied literature, history, and ultimately philosophy in college before diving into art history and interior design post-graduation.
-
While I enjoy nature and outdoor activities, I have to confess that most of my leisure activities revolve around the arts. I love going to museums, galleries, and historic sites. I love visiting antique shops and finding special pieces for myself and for my clients. I also enjoy cooking, entertaining, and exploring new restaurants with friends.
-
I love exploring new cities and countries and learning all about the history, culture, and architecture. While not a true vacation, I adore regularly attending design and industry trade shows like the High Point Furniture Market because I always leave feeling more invigorated and inspired than when I first arrived.

I am working on receiving a certification in neuroaesthetics so we can continue to implement science proven principles—bringing health and wellness to clients.

INTENTIONAl BALANCE
Interior Design is a Blend of Art and Science
DELIVERING THE RIGHT DESIGN IS A BALANCE OF ART AND SCIENCE—CREATIVITY AND UNDERSTANDING
The Artisitic Nature
We bring visions to life with innovative, intentional design. Over time, we've refined our process, ensuring each space reflects our clients' individuality. By selecting unique items and focusing on details, we create meaning and inspire originality. Our work blends classic styles with modern aesthetics, elevating spaces with fresh, timeless appeal.
The Scientific Side
We equip clients with knowledge to make informed decisions while focusing on thoughtful details and custom selections. As lifelong learners, we share our design wisdom and emphasize the value of quality. Our designs are based on what works, incorporating scientific principles to promote health and wellness in every space.
How We View Interior Design and All We’ve Learned
We believe design is a multifaceted discipline, requiring a lifetime of learning, exploration, and craftsmanship to approach mastery. This is why we continually deepen our knowledge of art, architecture, and the decorative arts, staying current with innovations and creatively expressing the intention behind each design.
Our experience has taught us that beauty is subjective—what resonates with one person may differ from another. We focus on understanding what speaks to our clients and use textures, layers, patterns and colors to create spaces that truly connect with them. Our goal is not only to execute a vision but to design beyond what we know is possible, crafting environments that move and inspire.
